For over 140 years, The Journal has been Queen’s major news source and a place where students can experience the world of journalism. Hundreds of students have passed through The Journal’s doors and worked incredibly hard to bring the newspaper where it is today. Many have since moved on to thrive in media careers.
Staff at the newspaper learn to become effective writers, editors and photographers, but few are trained in the web and multimedia skills that are demanded of journalists today. With the launch of our new website on June 2, 2015, The Journal has the capacity to inform the Queen’s community in new and innovative ways. To do so, we will require new tools and training for our staff.
We are looking to raise $5,000.00 over the next few months to help The Journal move forward. Through your generosity these funds would go towards the purchase of data visualization and other web tools, audio-visual equipment, an honorarium to recognize the contributions of a new Digital Manager and daily operations.
Thank you for taking the time to support The Journal’s mission to be a place of competitive education and reporting on campus. Please make your gift online today.
