Support Ride Team Ian in 2017!
Our son, brother and friend, Ian Lawson Van Toch died tragically in August 2007 of heart disease at the age of 22, after having just graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Computing. He was about to begin graduate studies in Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto.
Team Ian is composed of a small but growing group of amazing human beings who are willing to submit their bodies to endless hours of abuse for a good cause. Each cyclist is committing to a voluntary target of raising a minimum of $1000.00 – but the sky’s the limit! For 2017 we are setting a team goal of $100,000 – an ambitious target, but we know that with all of your support we will make the ride and its financial goal a success!
The Ian Lawson Van Toch Memorial Internship in Biomedical Computing at Queen's University
DRAFT Established to support undergraduate students in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine during summer internships in cancer informatics research, mainly focusing on developing new computational tools for studying dynamics of protein-protein interactions and cancer. The priority will be given to students in the 3rd and 4th year of their undergraduate studies with aspirations to continue research at a graduate level.
