Beryl Garrett, BA 1978, loved mathematics and teaching. She completed her degree at Queen’s as a part-time student while she was working, and she set up The Beryl S. Garett Award in Mathematics to help students studying math. It is awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and academic achievement to students in any year of a Bachelor of Science degree program in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Preference to students with an academic plan in Mathematics and Statistics.
