Since early 2000 the class of 1973 has been avidly raising funds for the school of medicine. The class has established both the T.R. Sullivan Memorial Prize in Surgery and the Meds 1973 Bursary. Both funds are worthy initiatives to consider when making your philanthropic contributions.

The Meds 1973 Bursary

Established by members of the Medicine Class of 1973 in honour of their 30th reunion. Awarded on the basis of financial need to undergraduate students in any year in the School of Medicine in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

The capital balance of the Meds 1973 Bursary was $29,075 as of April 30, 2023. Since its inception, the Meds 1973 Bursary has disbursed over $16,245 to 17 medical students with demonstrated financial need at Queen's.

T.R. Sullivan Memorial Prize in Surgery

Established by former classmates in memory of Robin Sullivan, an orthopedic surgeon at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, it is an annual prize to be awarded to a final-year medical student attaining the greatest proficiency in Surgery.

The capital balance of the T.R. Sullivan Memorial Prize in Surgery was $32,644 as of April 30, 2023. Since its inception, the prize has awarded over $55,315 to 32 students.
