The family of Dr. Gautam Walia is coming together to remember and celebrate his life.  He was a deeply admired family physician and compassionate caregiver. He also served the Province of Ontario as a coroner, providing comfort to families in their hardest days.  Dr. Walia earned his medical degree from Queen’s University in 2009 and went on to touch countless lives through his dedication and kindness. He is remembered for his passion as a physician and being a loving husband, father, son and brother.  

To honor his legacy, we invite you to support the Dr. Gautam Walia Memorial Award. This award has been established to assist students in the Department of Family Medicine at Queen’s who are facing financial hardship, while also recognizing academic achievement. Our hope is to help aspiring physicians overcome obstacles and continue their journeys with the same perseverance and heart that Dr. Walia exemplified.
